Housing with Care

As part of the County Council’s Public Service Agreement (PSA) with the government, Unsupported Credit Approvals (UCAs) have been allocated to Norfolk County Council for the development of Housing with Care Schemes.

What is a Housing with Care Scheme?

A Housing with Care Scheme is a complex made up of a number of flatlets, communal eating and sitting areas and assisted bathing and toilet facilities all under one roof.

Each flatlet is likely to consist of a small living room with kitchenette and a bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet.

Residents are tenants and pay rent, service, meals and care charges. While the financial arrangements are different from residential care individuals should be no worse off than they would be if they lived in a residential home.

Twenty-four hour care catering for people’s physical, social and emotional needs will be available as it is in a residential home.
