New ways to treat waste

Photo of landfill

Most people in Norfolk are now into the recycling habit but there is always going to be some rubbish left over – residual waste. At the moment this rubbish is buried in landfill sites, but space is running out and new rules mean we need to make better use of our rubbish and reduce its impact on the environment.

Norfolk County Council is working hard to find better things to do with our residual waste – using specialist technology to treat it rather than just burying it.
