Latest news:

The results of a health survey providing the most detailed information ever on the prevalence of overweight and obese children in Norfolk, has been released.

Find out about childhood obesity in your neighbourhood from the results of the health survey measuring the height and weight of over 13,000 children throughout Norfolk

The Norfolk Data Observatory (NDO) working in partnership with Norfolk Primary Care Trust (PCT), have published the data behind the results of the recently conducted Child height weight health survey.

Immediate access to obesity information for your neighbourhood can be achieved by entering your postcode using the NDO quick profiles section. The ‘data views’ section of the NDO allows you to interactively produce health maps showing the differences in the proportion of overweight and obese children across the County at various geographic levels.

A brief overview –

In December 2007, Communities and Local Government (CLG) published The English Indices of Deprivation 2007, the Government’s update of the Indices of Deprivation 2004. The methodology underpinning the two pieces of work is largely the same although there have been changes to certain of the underlying indicators. The new Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 combines a number of indicators into a single deprivation score at small area level, and there are separate domain scores, various supplementary indices and local authority summary scores, as with the previous report. Together these indices make up the Indices of Deprivation 2007 (ID 2007). For further information view DIN 1/08 below.
