Nar Valley Way (King's Lynn to Gressenhall)

There are a variety of circular, short and long walks available on the Nar Valley Way.

Take in some riverside views or walk through mixed woods and farmland whilst enjoying the wealth of historic buildings and ruins along the route.

More to explore

Explore the area further by picking up other Norfolk Trails which meet the Nar Valley Way;

  • At Castle Acre join the popular Peddars Way National Trail which heads north to Holme or south to Knettishall Heath
  • At Gressenhall join the Wensum Way through to Lenwade or head south to the market town of Dereham, or even carry on from Lenwade all the way through to Great Yarmouth on the Cross-Norfolk Trail

Short linear walks

Walk all or some of the Nar Valley Way in short sections of between 2.5 and 6 miles. The walks are listed running the length of the Nar Valley Way from west to east (King's Lynn to Gressenhall / Beetley).

Most sections have a nearby bus stop (check the walk details for further information) and there is a train station at King's Lynn.

Long linear walks

Walk the whole of the Nar Valley Way in three days. The sections vary between 8.5 and 12.5 miles long and are listed running from west to east (King's Lynn to Gressenhall).

Most sections have a nearby bus stop (check the walk details for further information) and there is a train station at King's Lynn.
