Commitment ceremonies

Commitment ceremonies are intended for couples who wish to make a public declaration of life long commitment to each other.

If you are unable or choose not to have a legal marriage or civil partnership, then this could be the ceremony for you. It gives you an opportunity to celebrate an important relationship with family and friends in a non-religious ceremony and setting.

You can hold your ceremony at one of our nine registration offices, at a venue licensed by the County Council or at a place of your choosing.

If you are planning to hold your ceremony at an approved venue, you will also need to ensure your local registrars are available to conduct your ceremony. Do not pay a deposit until you have done this.

To discuss and plan your commitment ceremony contact our ceremony team on 01603 222 645. You can leave a message on our voicemail service and we will respond within three working days.

When you have decided where and when you want to hold your ceremony, to make a booking, please complete a ceremony enquiry form.
