Information on reopening Day Services – April 2021
As we emerge from lockdown find out about day services reopening.
This page has information including individuals attending multiple settings, those who are CEV, testing and our road map to recovery.
Keep your users connected during COVID-19
We are working with technology company Alcove and consultancy Rethink Partners to help our service users stay connected.
The Alcove Video Carephone pilot will provide 200 devices to our most digitally-excluded, day opportunity users over the coming months.
The Video Carephone is a simple communication device that allows people with little or no technological ability to have two-way video contact with support workers and friends and family.
The intention is that residents who receive a device will not only be able to participate in activities virtually, but will also have greater contact with their friends and family through video calls, preventing loneliness and isolation.
If you would like to find out more, or would like to get involved, email firstname.lastname@example.org or read the FAQs.
Pathway for Covid-19 testing for day services
This pathway is for the Norfolk and Waveney CCG area.
The pathway is designed to provide guidance for day service providers who may receive queries from staff and customers about testing or where they believe groups of their staff/customers need to be tested.
The operation and sustainability of this pathway will be reviewed three months from its adoption. It is recognised this pathway cannot fully cover all situations which may arise. Colleagues should raise specific issues or situations for discussion and to ensure the system can work together to ensure an appropriate response.
Update for people supported by day services
We have written to people who are supported, or who care for someone supported by Norfolk County Council or Norfolk & Waveney Continuing Healthcare to attend a Day Service. We wanted to describe the changes to Day Services as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and outline next steps.
Local Government Association (LGA) webinar
On 20 July, LGA held a webinar about the re-opening of day services.
Watch the recording of the webinar on YouTube including questions and answers following the session.
Norfolk County Council day services update webinar
