What we have done to transform mental health services
Since autumn 2016, our work has focussed on mental health services bought by us and NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).
- Supported living
- Support to people with mental health needs to obtain or retain their own housing
- Personal assistants supporting people to meet their social care needs
During 2017, we worked with people who use services, providers and other partners to redesign these services to:
- Support social inclusion
- To reduce isolation
- To ensure services provided for individuals in the community, work together in a more joined-up way

The service was put out to tender and a number of providers came forward with new service models.
In October 2017, the contracts for the new services were awarded. They went to a partnership of local mental health service providers working together.
