You may find the following apps and websites useful for getting more active.

The apps mentioned are all free and are available to download from Google Play or the App store.

Physical activity that increases your breathing rate

  • Active Norfolk: get information on activities you can do at home, at work, outdoors, with children or if you have a disability. Active Norfolk are partners with Norfolk County Council and Public Health England.
  • EveryMove: this activity finder from Active Norfolk lets you search for activities on offer in your area.
  • NHS Active 10: This app tracks your steps everywhere you go, helping you to walk at least 10 minutes each day. It supports goal setting, shows your achievements and gives tips to boost your activity. 
  • NHS Couch to 5K: This app will help you work up towards running 5km in 9 weeks. It has a choice of 5 trainers to motivate you and works with your music player. It tracks your runs and connects you with other Couch to 5K runners. 

Balance and strengthening activities

  • NHS strength and flex plan: This NHS-designed plan aims to help you improve your strength and flexibility. It provides 5 weeks of equipment-free exercise plans. 
  • Your Health Norfolk community group exercise classes: These classes aim to reduce the risk of falls and boost your physical activity levels. There's also one-to-one home exercise programmes, falls prevention talks and a strength and balance DVD you can buy.

Physical activity that's part of weight loss

  • NHS weight loss plan: This app will help you lose weight with a plan broken down into 12 weeks. You can set weight loss goals and use the BMI calculator to customise your plan. You can also plan your meals, make healthier food choices, get more active to burn more calories, record your activity and progress.
