Harwood Care Charter

The Harwood Care Charter helps make sure people in Norfolk get high quality social care and support.

It sets out principles for how providers should work so people are at the centre of their care.

We named this charter after David Harwood, the County Council Cabinet Member who championed the idea.

Care and support providers who sign up to the charter listen to people. They aim to:

  • Ensure their services reflect feedback
  • Help people find services that will work for them
  • Report to commissioners where things work well or could work better

How it works

Ask the organisation who provides you with care and support whether they have signed up to the charter. If they have, they should give you:

  • A charter leaflet - which tells you what the organisation is committed to working towards
  • A charter card - which tells you what to expect from your care and support provider. It will include their details in case you have concerns.

If you have any feedback about how the charter is being used, discuss this with the people who provide you with care and support. Or you can contact our adult social care team.
