We recommend:
- You make sure you choose a reputable trader/handy person to carry out any work. Check they've got the correct qualifications. You can also ask other people who they think are good.
- You check who pays for repairs and maintenance. For example, if you rent or live in social housing, you may not be responsible for some work. Check with your landlord or social housing provider.

Bigger repairs and jobs might include boiler repairs or repairing white goods.
