Every word, choice and interaction made by a parent, either in their child’s presence or while engaging directly with them, plays a significant part in their child’s learning. These playful, everyday activities are just as much about teaching as learning the names of shapes or remembering the sounds that letters represent.

Ofsted highlighted the important role parents play in their child's learning, in their report 'Teaching and Play in the Early Years- a balancing act' (July 2015).

Whether children are at home, in an early years setting or at school, parents/carers really matter.
