Residential care

Some older children may live in a residential home, this means that you will live with a small group of other looked after young people in the same house. You will have trained residential workers at the home 24 hours a day who can provide you with anything you need and support you to understand what is happening. You will have a named key worker who will work with you and your social worker to make sure you are safe and well.

You will have your own room and there will be fully trained staff members to support you in the same way a foster carer or kinship carer would.
