Clothes

Your foster carer/residential worker will make sure you have good clean clothes and shoes or trainers to wear. They will also replace them when they get too old or do not fit you anymore.

If you want something expensive like designer brands, your carer or residential worker may ask you to share the cost, another reason why saving is very important. If it is just everyday clothing and shoes you want, then your foster carer/residential worker will have a budget to buy these for you.

When you reach the September after your 16th birthday, you will get a personal allowance instead of pocket money. This will help you to become more independent as you'll be able to start paying for some items yourself like your clothes, shoes or toiletries. You should talk to your carer/residential worker and social worker before you start doing this so you can agree together what you will pay for and they can help you with budgeting.
