When you start looking for work, look for the ‘disability confident’ logo.
The logo is awarded by the Department of Work and Pensions to employers who are happy to employ disabled people and who have made commitments to employ, retain and develop the abilities of disabled staff.
If you have a disability and you are looking for a job, look on job adverts, in windows and on application forms.
If a job advert displays the logo, you know the employer is open to taking on someone with a disability.
Some employers may offer a guaranteed interview if you meet the basic conditions for the job and the employer will then consider you fairly on your abilities.
