Help You Choose
Help You Choose is Norfolk’s careers information, advice and opportunities website and online applications system for young people. It is a website to ‘help you choose’ your next step.
It gives independent information about all course and training options for 16-25 year olds.
On Help You Choose you can:
Set up and use My Account where you can prepare information for your online application, set your preferences for the opportunities you are interested in and manage your applications for courses, apprenticeships and training.
Go to ‘Info and Advice’ section for information on decisions and choices, education and learning, work and training, money, travel and transport, CV’s, interviews, qualifications, career options, apprenticeships, job seeking, further and higher education.
Search and apply for courses at sixth forms and colleges in Norfolk. Choose the ‘6th Form and College Courses’ tab to search for A levels, vocational qualifications and other courses.
Go to ‘Apprenticeships, Jobs and Training’ section to search for the latest opportunities and to find advice on how to find a job, make applications, prepare and go for interviews.
Find out about Open Evenings and Careers Fairs in ‘Events’ section of the homepage.
Find specialist SEND courses - select the SEND tab at the top of the page (on an iPad it displays on the right hand side) and search for all the specialist SEND courses in Norfolk.
Step 1 – Make sure you have your Unique Pupil Number (UPN). You will be given your Unique Pupil Number (UPN) by your school.
If you are not on roll at a school because you are home educated or for another reason, contact the helpdesk at email@example.com or on 0344 800 8022 to ask for your UPN.
Step 2 – Select the ‘Register’ button on the homepage
Step 3 – Fill out the online registration forms including your UPN
Step 4 – Create a username and password that you will remember and set up a memorable question so you can retrieve your username or password if you do forget it
Applying online via Help You Choose is easy:
Step 1 – Login with your username and password
Step 2 – Build your personal profile in My Account
Step 3 – Search for the opportunities you wish to apply for
Step 4 – Apply by selecting the ‘Add to Application’ button next to the course or courses you are interested in
Step 5 – Check the information in your form and send
Some sixth forms, colleges and training providers contact you to arrange an advice interview.
If an institution wants to offer you a place, they will send you an offer.
