Do you find it difficult to learn and need extra support to move on?
Some of you are not ready to go into a full-time college course or into work and need extra help and support to develop your skills and confidence to make your next step.
If this sounds like you, and you need a bit more support before you move on into a traineeship, apprenticeship, job or college course, you might like to look at a re-engagement programme.
Re-engagement programmes vary in length from a few weeks, to up to a year. Some have start dates throughout the year.
Each provider will offer a slightly different re-engagement programme but they all aim to help you to:
- Build your confidence
- Develop your job seeking skills
- Get certificates or qualifications in English, maths and ICT
- Get certificates in health and safety, customer service and first aid
You will may also get the chance to try out some work tasters and / or to get involved in a community project or team challenge.
A re-engagement programme will offer you a positive experience and a chance to find out about all the skills you already have and develop new ones.
The experience will hopefully give you the confidence you need to take that next step, whatever it is.
