What are the roles of LSAs and TAs?
A learning support assistant (LSA) or teaching assistant (TA) is someone who works in the classroom under the direction of a qualified teacher. They support individual children or small groups to help them learn and take part in activities in schools or nurseries.
Who do they work for?
They are employed by the school.

You should not need to contact a TA or LSA unless a special arrangement is in place to do this as part of your child’s special educational needs (SEN) support. Your first point of contact will normally be your child’s class teacher or the school SENCO.
