Dyslexia outreach service

The Dyslexia Outreach Service provides a support service to all schools, including academies, free schools and independent schools. The service covers all key stages, for pupils age five to 18.

If you are concerned about your child and dyslexia and would like the service to be involved, contact the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) in your child's school. The SENCo will get in contact with the service.

What does the service do?

  • The Dyslexia Outreach Service does not provide direct teaching support for individual pupils
  • It offers a core service working with schools, offering:
    • advice and support
    • strategies for staff working with individual pupils
    • strategies for a whole school approach to dyslexia friendly practices
    • inset training and qualification courses
  • It also works with parents and offers dyslexia courses
