Norfolk Early Support and Therapy Group (NEST)

What is the NEST Group?

The NEST group was set up to support families/carers of young children (up to  2½ years of age) who have disabilities or complex health needs:

The group aims to:

Provide easy access to advice for families/carers from a variety of professionals and organisations including:

  • Occupational Therapist
  • Speech and Language Therapist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Nursery Nurse
  • Psychologist
  • Specialist Health Visitor
  • Portage worker
  • Local organisations eg Hamlet Centre, NANSA (Norfolk & Norwich Scope Association) 

Allow family/carers to meet other people who are often in similar situations to themselves

To signpost families to appropriate services

Refreshments are provided and there are toys and sometimes an activity as well as singing.


 Referrals are made by a health professional after discussion with parents/carers. Once the referral has been reviewed and agreed appropriate details of the group will be sent to the family.

When is the group held?

The group is held on the second Wednesday of each month (except August) from 12.30-2pm.
