Activities and things to do

You should encourage your young person with SEND to take part in leisure activities and be part of their community, as part of their preparation for adult life. However it can be complicated to find accessible opportunities for your young person to get out and join in with others.

You will also need to help them get the balance right between learning or work, and doing fun things. Too much of either can lead to potential difficulties for them, further along the journey of preparing for adult life.
