This course provides the opportunity for you to learn techniques to create effective portraits. Working from a live model each week, you will build your skills week by week, with expert guidance from your tutor throughout.
What will I learn?
You will learn tips and specific techniques to support your observational drawing, and experiment with a range of mediums to develop shadow, texture and tone to render the head in portrait effectively. You will share your outcomes with peers and enjoy demonstrations and gain individual support from your tutor to help you to develop your technique and increase your confidence.
About the tutor
Rebecca Mills has a BA (Hons) Graphic Design and has worked as both a Graphic Designer and freelance Illustrator. Her own artwork is created by both handmade and digital methods. Her area of expertise is digital collage, creating handmade textures and manipulating them by digital methods using Photoshop.
How will the course be taught?
This class provides practical exercises working from a live model, tutor demonstrations, and opportunities to reflect on and discuss your progress as a group.
