Whether you want to improve your existing drawing skills or develop the confidence to start drawing, this course will encourage you to challenge yourself and enable you to continue to produce satisfying artwork. You will explore and develop your use of tone, shape, proportion, colour and mark making. Experiment with a range of materials and media for drawing, and learn more about your own style of drawing. This course will help you develop your style through experience and confidence through having tried different approaches to drawing.

About your Tutor
Rebecca Mills has a BA (Hons) Graphic Design and has worked as both a Graphic Designer and freelance Illustrator. Her own artwork is created by both handmade and digital methods. Her area of expertise is digital collage, creating handmade textures and manipulating them by digital methods using Photoshop.
How will the course be taught?
This course is taught online via a virtual classroom. Throughout the ten-week course your tutor will lead you through a range of creative activities You will have the opportunity to share your work with the rest of the group and learn from each other in regular weekly task reviews as well as one to one feedback via our learning platform. In between classes you will be encouraged to practice the techniques you have learnt with a weekly blended learning task or project. You will receive regular feedback on your work.
Before you book
This course is aimed at learners who have completed a beginner’s course or have similar skills and knowledge. It would be suitable for people who want to revisit fundamental drawing and painting skills.

What equipment do I need?
The cost of equipment and materials is not included in the course fees, your tutor will advise where you can purchase required resources, tools and equipment. In the first week you will need to have some soft drawing pencils and an A4 or A3 Sketchpad. You may want to have an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.
Are there any additional costs?
There are additional costs associated with ordering materials as part of this course. Your tutor will be able to give you more information on this once you start the course.
