People with dementia sometimes need a helping hand to go about their daily lives and feel included in their local community.
A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with the condition, then turns that understanding into action that could make a difference to people living with dementia.
Dementia Friends is a national initiative run by the Alzheimer's Society, which aims to improve people's understanding of dementia and its effects. Anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend.
Dementia Friends information sessions are delivered for free to any group of interested individuals (minimum of five), whether it’s a community organisation, set of employees or just a social group.
Sessions last about an hour and can be arranged at a time and location to suit you.
Additional information sessions run by other organisations can be found on the Dementia Friends website.
