Support for employers - Skills and employment team (SET)

The skills and employment team (SET) supports organisations to attract and hire an inclusive and diverse workforce.

Employing those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and/or autism spectrum disorder can support your business to:

  • Access a wider pool of labour
  • Promote inclusive culture
  • Increase staff morale and retention
  • Reduce recruitment costs
  • Champion a diverse workforce which reflects the customers it serves and the community in which it is based

SET supports employers to offer paid employment to people with a disability or disadvantage. To achieve this, we deliver a comprehensive package of advice, guidance and support, including:

  • Job carving to match your business needs with our client base
  • Work trials, work experience and working interviews
  • Advice on how to become Disability Confident Employer
  • Advice, resources and access to our client base
  • Practical hands-on 1:1 support, with ongoing support
  • Referrals to individualised training for your staff
