Message from Cliff Jordan - Leader of the Council

My administration is dedicated to a methodical but rapid improvement in the services we give to our residents.

While we have continued with plans which deliver the four council priorities of: Real Jobs, Excellence in Education, Improving infrastructure and Supporting vulnerable people, I want to see how we  can sharpen up and speed up progress in these areas.

So while we are pleased for instance that our support has seen number of Norfolk Schools who offer good and outstanding education to our children have improved to now match the national average number, we want to do better than that.

Services for vulnerable children are improving, but the pace of change isn’t fast enough.  We are improving road and rail links with our successful Norwich in Ninety campaign producing a much faster link to London and work is progressing on the new northern Distributor Road, the largest single new road scheme currently being built in the country.

But we want to do more. I am clear that decisions need to be taken more quickly and services improved more quickly and to do that our Managing Director needs the help of inspiring leaders and dedicated managers throughout the council.

If you are one of those inspiring leaders or dedicated managers – I can promise you the full support of the elected Members of Norfolk County Council.
