We offer training tailored to your needs, for staff as well as volunteers and pupil librarians – from individual one to one training, mentoring and coaching to workshops for school teams, cluster teams or student/newly qualified teachers. Training can be delivered in any part of the county as well as in other local authorities that do not have their own School Library Service.
“Thank you so much for your contribution to the SCITT trainees' first English training day. You brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the session which was clearly much appreciated by the group. Renewed thanks for your willingness to participate in this important element of the course and also for bring such an amazing selection of texts for us all to enjoy!”
The Education Library Service offers a range of training to support Continual Professional Development delivered by highly respected external trainers as well as the skilled and experienced ELS team, often in partnership. INSET courses are for all phases – Early Years, Primary phase and Secondary phase schools.

Regular courses include: Using Library Management Systems, Using eBooks, Blogging in the Classroom… and all kinds of topics to stimulate and energize your teaching practice.
