Sharing songs and rhymes is a fun way for babies and toddlers to develop their communication skills and learn about language and numbers from an early age.
We hold Bounce and Rhyme Time sessions at most Norfolk libraries. The sessions are completely free and you don’t need to book. They last for about 30-45 minutes and are led by friendly library staff, children’s centre staff or volunteers, who love what they do.
The sessions are very relaxed. We want all parents, carers and children to feel welcome, happy and comfortable in our libraries so there’s no need to worry about tantrums or the need to feed or take a child to the toilet.
“Really excellent. Very engaging with children and fun for the parent too.”
“A lovely session that a nana and baby can enjoy. I’ve brought my grandson a few times now.”
“Fantastic opportunity for little ones to get together and do some things together they are able to do.”
“Best part of the week!”
We’re always looking for volunteers to help out with our Bounce and Rhyme Time sessions. If you think you have what it takes to be a great Bounce and Rhyme Time leader, register your interest on our volunteering page.
One of our leaders, Adrian White, recently gained national recognition for his sessions at the Millennium Library. Read about Adrian on the BookTrust website.
