Join us on the first Saturday of every month where a guest storyteller for an accessible storytime, where they will read a book and an interpreter will sign in British Sign Language. This event takes place in our Children's Library and is free to attend; children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Sessions are limited to 30 children plus accompanying adults so we advise attendees arrive up to 30 minutes before the session begins to collect an admission sticker.

Sharing songs and rhymes is a fun way for babies and toddlers to develop their communication skills and learn about language and numbers from an early age. The sessions are completely free and you don't need to book. They last for about 30-45 minutes and are led by friendly library staff or volunteers, who love what they do. The sessions are very relaxed. We want all parents, carers and children to feel welcome, happy and comfortable in our libraries so there's no need to worry about tantrums or the need to feed or take a child to the toilet.
