Did you know you can renew your library books online? You'll need your library card and PIN.

Opening hours

Register for our Open Library service for easy extended access to the unstaffed library outside normal opening hours using your library card and PIN.

  • Monday: 8am-7pm (staffed 10am-7pm)
  • Tuesday: 8am-7pm (Open Library access only)
  • Wednesday: 8am-7pm (staffed (10am-7pm)
  • Thursday: 8am-7pm (staffed 10am-7pm)
  • Friday: 8am-7pm (staffed 10am-7pm)
  • Saturday: 8am-4pm (staffed 10am-4pm)
  • Sunday 10am-4pm (Open Library access only)

If you just need to drop a book off out of hours, use the brass letterbox to the left of the main entrance.  Please make sure that books drop into the box completely and aren’t left sticking out.

OutRunning is a new partnership programme delivered in conjunction with Norfolk and Waveney Mind, Norfolk Library and Information Service, Broadland District Council and Active Norfolk to help people with mild to moderate mental health conditions improve their wellbeing through physical activity, be more active, socialise and feel better. This free, run-for-fun group will be led by a qualified coach, followed by a cup of tea and a friendly get-together in the Library! We will help local people to start running, with support for their emotional health, even if they have no previous running experience. Please get in touch with Sam at outrunning@norfolkandwaveneymind.org.uk or Paul at paul.taylor@norfolk.gov.uk for an informal chat if you would like to find out more.

Sharing songs and rhymes is a fun way for babies and toddlers to develop their communication skills and learn about language and numbers from an early age. The sessions are completely free and you don't need to book. They last for about 30 minutes and are led by friendly library staff or volunteers, who love what they do. Bounce and Rhyme Time sessions are very relaxed. We want all parents, carers and children to feel welcome, happy and comfortable in our libraries so there's no need to worry about tantrums the need to feed a child or take them to the toilet
