If you just need to drop a book off out of hours, use the blue box outside the door.  Please make sure that books drop into the box completely and aren’t left sticking out.

Provided by T.O.R.R.O, the Starfish cafe runs every Saturday at Thetford Library for those who do not have a permanent, fixed place to live. The cafe aims to provide a place where people can come and get warm, have a hot drink and some breakfast, read a newspaper, charge their phones, use the internet, but most importantly have some company and be signposted if possible towards help available and have a snack to take away. Baby Bounce & Rhyme is fun session involving songs & rhymes for babies, pre school children and their parents/carers. And is great for your babies development! Sharing books and stories is all about having fun together. It also helps children develop language, listening and communication skills - it's never too early to introduce babies to the colourful world of books. Also in Norfolk Libraries we have:- * A dedicated children's catalogue * Board Books with thick easy to turn pages that will appeal to the youngest child * Story books featuring new and old friends, traditional and new stories from around the world * Lift-the-flap, pop-up, musical, novelty and tactile books * Activity books with nursery rhymes for singing and counting games * First facts books to introduce children to concepts such as letters, numbers, colours and shapes * Simple non-fiction books on themes such as trucks and diggers, wild animals and dinosaurs * New experiences books to help with new and sometimes difficult situations like moving house or a new baby * Children's DVDs and CDs containing nursery rhymes, songs and stories * Story sacks containing picture and information books, toys and a game all linked to the story * Most of our libraries hold Bounce and Rhyme times, you will find details of dates and times here * We want all parents, carers and children to feel welcome, happy and comfortable in the library so there's no need to worry about tantrums, books being pulled off the shelves or the need to feed or take a child to the toilet. There are no overdue charges for under fives. We also know that young children sometimes accidentally damage books and make no charges for this either.

This is a story and craft based group where children can explore books and enjoy role play, music and activities based around the story of the week. This group can be enjoyed by children from newborn up to school age, so is a great session for siblings of different ages to attend together. Sessions are either offered within a local library, or a librarian attends the group regularly, helping families to register for library cards, and encouraging the use of library services. No need to pre-book, Every Wednesday's during term time.

As our Slime Workshop in the Summer Holidays was so popular we have decided to repeat the event so that those of you who couldn't come before will have a chance to mess around with slime!
