Council briefs MPs on coronavirus response

20 March 2020

County Council leader Councillor Andrew Proctor said: “Today, along with Tom McCabe, NCC’s Head of Paid Service, I convened a conference call with all our Norfolk MPs, to discuss the current situation, how the county council is working to maintain critical services and how we’re keeping the public informed.

“The MPs appreciate all the hard work local government in Norfolk is doing to take swift action to protect and inform the public in this rapidly changing situation.

“Our MPs have pledged to continue to work with us to lobby for any additional Government assistance that may be required, in supporting the public through these trying times.

“Norfolk County Council will be doing all it can to support people to get around the county, including lifting the concessionary bus pass time restrictions and working closely with transport providers to ensure the most up to date information is made available.

“I would encourage residents to check the latest updates on our website: www.norfolk.gov.uk/safety/service-disruptions and the Norfolk Resilience Forum: www.norfolkprepared.gov.uk.”
