Fullers Hill Roundabout

Creating an extra lane on the roundabout by decreasing the size of the central island.  An additional right-hand turn lane will also be put in on the North Quay approach.

From Monday, 18 September 2017 for around 14 weeks – scheduled to finish early in the new year.

To increase the capacity of the roundabout and reduce congestion in general and particularly from the North Quay approach where often queues are particularly bad due to the volume of traffic wanting to get onto the A47.

When completed, people can expect fewer delays in the area and shorter, more reliable journey times.

Likely disruption

One lane closed on all roads approaching the roundabout for the duration of the works, so delays are likely, particularly in peak times.  We hope to be able to suspend the work and remove the lane closures for the town’s Christmas lights switch-on and Christmas Fair on the weekend of 24 to 26 November.

A series of overnight closures are necessary towards the end of work to resurface the roundabout along with the adjoining sections of the four approach roads. The roundabout will therefore be closed between 7pm and 6am for seven nights from Monday, 15 January until the morning of Monday, 22 January. Signed diversions will be in place.
