We have submitted an application to the Future Mobility Zone (FMZ) fund in order to significantly reduce levels of single car occupancy in Norwich.
The FMZ fund is a £90m pot of capital funding that’s been made available to those on the shortlist for the Department for Transport’s £1.2bn Transforming Cities Fund.
In May, the County Council became one of seven applicants to make it through to the second and final stage of the bid. In September 2019 we put forward our outline business case and programme of activity.

Working with our Greater Norwich partners and project stakeholders, we hope to support the Transforming Cities programme of sustainable transport improvements by helping people make more informed choices about how they travel.
The Secretary of State will choose up to three areas to be Future Mobility Zones. A funding decision is expected before Christmas 2019.
