Norwich Western Link

The link between the A47 and Northern Distributor Road west of Norwich was not promoted as part of the current scheme because of the environmental impact on the Wensum valley.

However, at Norfolk County Council’s Full Council meeting on 12 December 2016, members agreed that making this connection, known as the Norwich Western Link, should be the Council’s road infrastructure priority for the coming years, along with Long Stratton Bypass and Great Yarmouth Third River Crossing.  Council also agreed to urge the Government to make "timely improvement of all the A47" (from Peterborough to Lowestoft).
