We sell compost at all our recycling centres, for £3.50 a bag. The bags are hand-filled to approximately 40 litres.

Guidance for using our recycling centres

Please abide by the rules of the recycling centre and follow the advice and instruction of the recycling centre staff. View our full terms and conditions.

Assistance dogs are welcome at our recycling centres.

Please wear sensible clothing, gloves and footwear.

Our recycling centres have separate containers for different materials, which are all signed. Staff can help you find the right place to put your recyclables please ask if you are unsure.

Please separate your recycling before you visit.

Please bring your waste in manageable loads that you can easily move to the containers. If you need extra assistance please ask staff, but you may have to wait at busy times.

Please do not use large sacks as these block pathways and access to the containers.  Staff are not able to move or lift heavy sacks and may ask you to move the contents by splitting it into smaller loads.

We don’t have any height or width restrictions at any of the recycling centres, all have wide access and no entrance barriers. Any domestic car, van, trailer etc. will be able to gain access and park close to the containers.

Most sites have compactors at ground level for green and general waste.  These are provided for your convenience and avoid the use of steps.

Customer items may be offered to the reuse shops for sale, but not all items will be suitable for resale. Any DIY item charged for may then be sold on in the reuse shop if it is suitable.

Recycling centres without a reuse shop will collect any items for reuse to be collected for bric-a-brac.

Staff will always be available to give advice, which must be followed for health and safety reasons.
