Recycling centres: Before visiting a centre, please read the latest information on our rubbish and recycling coronavirus updates page
You can take large, freestanding household items, such as wardrobes, fridges, freezers, cookers, sofas, beds and mattresses to any of Norfolk’s recycling centres in any amount.
We have no restrictions or permit systems in place for vans or trailers at Norfolk's recycling centres. Site staff may ask where the waste has come from if you are bringing large quantities to ensure it is household waste.
We don’t have any height or width restrictions at any of the recycling centres, all have wide access and no barriers. Any domestic car, van, trailer etc. will be able to gain access.
Vehicles can usually get within two metres of the containers due to safety barriers and pedestrian walkways. Staff will always be available to give advice, which must be followed for health and safety reasons.
If the furniture has been fixed to your property at any time (eg fitted wardrobes, fitted cabinets, fitted kitchen units) then it's classed as DIY type waste for which a charge will be made.
Contact your local council to see whether they will collect bulky or hazardous household waste or commercial waste. They might charge you for this service.
