Requesting a consultation

A consultation with our Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) team can be requested by any professional working directly or indirectly with:

• A child or young person with a permanent address within Norfolk or Waveney
• A child or young person who is displaying harmful sexual behaviour

Please note that the team does not consult directly with parents, carers or young people.

Please ensure that all relevant professionals working with this young person are aware of the HSB consultation and are invited to attend where relevant.

Please note, we only offer direct assessment and/or intervention to young people displaying HSB, where:

• Behaviours are violent and abusive on the Hackett Continuum
• Risk of HSB is high and previous intervention has been unsuccessful

Consultations are generally intended to assist the existing professionals in the child's network to work with the child or young person displaying HSB.

Consultations can be requested by emailing hsbproject@norfolk.gov.uk with a brief summary of what the consultation is for.

The waiting time for a consultation is currently 4 to 6 weeks.
