The government requires all local authorities to collect and report a range of performance data to enable customers to gauge how well they are delivering quality value for money services.

The government no longer specifies which performance indicators should be collected, but instead encourages local services to work with communities to develop the indicators. Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service is identifying a new suite of local indicators to reflect local community priorities.
