Community projects and events

There are lots of ways to get involved in 1 Million Trees for Norfolk.

Maybe you are part of a parish council or school with land suitable for a new community orchard. Or perhaps you're a landowner interested in establishing new trees, hedges or woodland to link up habitats, reduce soil erosion and help prevent flooding.

Community projects

If you don't have your own land or the permission to use other land, there are other ways to establish trees. You could get involved with projects in your community or events across Norfolk.

Ways to get involved:

• Find out if you have a local Tree Warden or how you can volunteer to become a Tree Council Warden. Tree wardens arrange tree activities including planting days. They engage with schools and communities to look after local trees and woodlands.
• Get in touch with your parish council, as many have shown interest in planting new trees
• Volunteer to grow trees with a community tree nursery

Events

Tree planting usually takes place from around November to March. This is when the trees are dormant and more likely to settle in successfully.

Once we plant trees, they need proper care. There will be activities throughout each year where you can get involved in tree care.
