Improving visitor experiences

The challenge

At the moment there is no easy way to find out if members of the public are visiting all the outside attractions at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Museum In Norfolk.

The project wanted to provide better information to the museum staff to see where people did and did not go while visiting the 50-acre grounds and gardens.

Our solution

Using the long range wide area network (LoRaWAN), GPS tracking devices were handed out to members of the public when they entered the grounds. These devices provided location information during their stay which was published on a dashboard.

Real world benefits

The trail showed GPS data and location points of the visitors; providing valuable insight to the visitor journey around the museum. The museums service could look at those behaviour patterns and make decisions which improved the visitor experience.
