Executive Directors have a responsibility to ensure that the amount of money allocated in the budget to deliver their service is not exceeded.

Budgets are delegated to responsible budget holders who monitor day-to-day expenditure and income against their budgets.  Any differences found are discussed within management teams and reported to County Leadership Team and Members on a monthly basis.

If they have spent more than their allocation in one area, they must take action to reduce spending in the following months, so that they do not exceed their approved budget.
