Minerals and Waste Development Scheme

The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme sets out the timetable for producing and reviewing minerals and waste planning policy documents, including those forming part of the Norfolk Minerals and Waste Local Plan.

On 18 May 2018 Norfolk County Council's Environment, Transport and Development Committee resolved that a new Minerals and Waste Development Scheme shall have effect from 1 June 2018. The adopted Minerals and Waste Development Scheme can be viewed by clicking on the first link below, the second link is to a version showing the changes made between the current and previous version of the Development Scheme.

The first public consultation stage (Regulation 18) for the Norfolk Minerals and Waste Local Plan Review took place during July and August 2018.

The timetable for the remaining stages in the Minerals and Waste Local Plan Review process is now expected to change, as follows:

  • Preferred options public consultation (Regulation 18): March/April 2019
  • Pre-submission publication representations period (Regulation 19): November/December 2019
  • Submission to the Secretary of State (Regulation 22): February 2019
  • Examination Hearings (Regulation 24): May 2020
  • Adoption (Regulation 26): December 2020
