Statement of Community Involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement explains how Norfolk County Council intends to involve the community in the preparation of Minerals and Waste planning policy documents and the consideration of planning applications.

On 6 September 2012 Norfolk County Council formally adopted the current Statement of Community Involvement (April 2012 update).

A live update of the Statement of Community Involvement has been produced to reflect the following changes since 2012:

  • Chapter 2 has been amended to reflect the adoption of the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies DPD, the Minerals Site Specific Allocations DPD and the Waste Site Specific Allocations DPD
  • All references to Council Information Centres have been removed as there are no longer any Council Information Centres
  • Appendix 2 has been amended to contain the current procedure for asking questions at Committee, as published on the County Council's website
  • Appendix 5 has been amended to contain the current procedure for speaking at Planning (Regulatory) Committee, as published on the County Council's website

Here is the live version of the Statement of Community Involvement at March 2017.

As more than five years has passed since the adoption of the SCI, a full review of the document is taking place to ensure that it remains up to date.

A public consultation will be carried out on the draft Statement of Community Involvement over six weeks from 29 June to 5pm on 13 August 2018.
