Finance and Commercial Services
In December 2016, County Council agreed to transfer procurement, information management and technology, and transactional HR services, into the Finance and Commercial Services Department along with finance and property.
Finance supports a wide range of activities to enhance financial performance, understanding, and accountability within the Council and directorates. Finance has teams delivering services such as budgeting and financial management, finance exchequer services, internal audit and pensions.
The Corporate Property Team ensures the effective management of the Council’s property portfolio, including providing strategic advice and support to service departments. The team also oversees the Council’s key property contracts and manages the County Farms estate.
The Information Management and Technology (IMT) Team provides a wide range of information and communications technology (ICT) for Norfolk County Council and our external customers. This includes websites, data handling, telephony, hardware, software and delivering support for Members’ ICT requirements. The team also supports the Council in making sure we do everything we should to keep people’s personal information safe, setting out good practice through clear and effective policies and procedures.
Procurement provides advice and support to all Council departments to ensure goods and services are sourced in a way which delivers value for money and to make certain the Council complies with legal requirements. The service manages corporate contracts and also provides advice and assistance for officers managing any other procurement activity.
