Enjoy feel good events at this year's Creativity and Wellbeing Week

Norfolk County Council, 8 May 2024 13:47

This national celebration returns for another week of events highlighting the power of creativity and culture to improve our health and wellbeing.

Creativity and Wellbeing Week runs from 20 - 26 May. In Norfolk, there's a great mix of in person and online events on offer from Norfolk County Council's libraries, adult learning, museums and record office, as well as local artists, arts and health partners.

Cllr Margaret Dewsbury, Cabinet member for Communities and Partnerships said: "It's now widely recognised that taking part in creative activities can improve our health and wellbeing. Creativity and Wellbeing Week offers the perfect opportunity to get involved in a range of art and cultural activities and feel the benefits.

"Norfolk County Council is proud of the collaborative work we undertake with our arts, health, culture and heritage partners and this week showcases the wonderful work of Norfolk based artists and organisations.

"You'll find something for all ages and abilities including low cost and free events. Activities range from Egyptian belly dancing, art and craft workshops, poetry and singing to yoga, performance, guided tours and much more."

A special free outdoor event at Sweet Briar Marshes offers a chance to experience art and nature. On our Doorstep is part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival and is a series of artworks created in collaboration with local people and Norfolk Wildlife Trust. It runs from 13 May to 19 June, admission free.
