Youth Pledge for Employers project

We are excited to announce that the Youth Pledge for Employers project will continue across Norfolk, working in partnership with the The Mason Trust.

Who it's for

The project will engage with a wide range of businesses across Norfolk:

  • Small (including micro)
  • Medium and large enterprises

The Youth Pledge for Employers project helps to offer young people in Norfolk, up to the age of 25:

  • Work inspiration
  • Experience or employment opportunities

The project team is working collaboratively with employers to record a talk with them about roles and skills within their organisation. This is then linked to a bespoke online profile about the employer, created for them by the project and posted on the I can be a... website. The local careers website 'I can be a...' is hosted by our project partner, and charity, The Mason Trust. The website is part of developing a 24/7 careers fair that enables young people to access careers information in a way that suits them. The aim is to demystify, and showcase, all the great businesses that exist in Norfolk.

Employers may also choose to offer opportunities supporting both business growth and youth employment with better knowledge of work:

  • Work experience
  • Work trials
  • Mentoring
  • Workplace visits
  • Skills programmes
  • Apprenticeships
  • Employment (with training)

The team can also link employers with local schools and colleges to inspire future careers. It's also a great addition to businesses looking to develop their social responsibility programmes. The project team can help support businesses to engage with young people locally.
