Setting up a social care online account

This guidance will help you complete each step to register for a Social Care online account.

You'll need an email address and a landline or mobile phone number which has good signal. This is because you'll use it every time you log in.

How to register for an account, when invited by your worker

  1. You'll receive an email titled 'Set up your My Norfolk Social Care Account'. If your worker says we've sent you an email, but you have not yet received it, check your spam folder.
  2. The email will contain a unique code. When you receive the email, contact your worker. They'll ask you to confirm the code you have received.
  3. Next, you'll receive an email titled 'Accept My Norfolk Social Care Account Invitation'. This will contain a link which you need to select.
  4. If you already have a My Norfolk account, enter your email address and password, and select 'Sign in'. You can now skip to Step 14 in this process. If you do not have a My Norfolk account, select 'Sign up now'.
  5. Fill in your email address and select 'Send verification code'.
  6. Without closing the sign in page, go to your email inbox. You'll have received an email titled 'Norfolk County Council account verification code'. The email will contain a 6-digit code. Note that this email could take a few minutes to arrive. If you can't see it, check your spam folder
  7. Return to the sign in page and put the code into the 'Verification code' field, then select 'Verify code'.
  8. Your email address will now be verified, so you can continue. Add your password, confirm password, first name and surname. Then select 'Create'.
  9. You now need to provide a phone number. We use this to confirm your identity every time you log in. This can be either a landline or mobile phone number, but it needs to have good signal.
  10. If you are adding a landline, then select 'Call Me'. You'll then receive an automated call and get a prompt to press the hash key on your phone. If you are adding a mobile phone number, you can select 'Send Code' or 'Call Me'. If you select 'Send Code' you will receive a message containing a six-digit code, which you will need to enter.
  11. You'll have to to repeat this process to confirm your phone number.
  12. You'll now be at the Account setup page. Select the box next to the name of the person whose record you are being given access to and confirm that you wish to continue setting up the account. Tick the box to indicate that you have read our privacy policy (a link is provided for you to do this).
  13. In the pop-up box, select 'Submit'.
  14. Log out by selecting your name from the top of the screen.
  15. When we activate your account, you'll get an email titled 'New My Norfolk Social Care activation'. This means that your account is now ready to use. The email will contain a link you can follow to log in to your account. You'll log in using the email address and password that you have set up.
