We are excited to announce the launch of the Youth Pledge for Employers project, a European Social Fund (ESF) funded project, working in partnership with Suffolk County Council and The Mason Trust until December 2023.
Who it's for
The project is engaging with a wide range of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across Norfolk and Suffolk to offer work inspiration, experience or employment opportunities to 16 to 24 year olds in the region.
The project team is working collaboratively with employers to record a talk with them about roles, skills, and their organisation. This is then linked to a bespoke online profile about the employer, created for them by the project and posted on the I can be a... website, a local careers website hosted by project partner and charity, The Mason Trust. This is part of developing a 24/7 careers fair that enables young people to access careers information in a way that suits them, demystifying industries and showcasing all the great businesses that exist in the region.
Employers may also choose to offer work experience, work trials, mentoring, workplace visits, traineeships, apprenticeships, and employment (with training) roles within organisations, supporting both business growth and youth employment with better knowledge of work. It’s also a great addition to businesses looking to develop their social responsibility programmes as the team can offer support to engage with young people locally.
How to get involved
We have a team of Connectors across Norfolk and Suffolk ready to help organisations to get involved. Businesses can join in or just find out more by emailing:
