Marketplace eBrokerage

Norfolk County Council began to use a web-based system for sourcing care called Marketplace eBrokerage in 2022.

It transformed how we work with home support, residential and nursing home providers. eBrokerage makes it easier for care providers to share information and communicate quickly with us.

If you have been signposted to this page for further assistance, please find links to all the relevant training documents and advice on how to raise a call for support at the bottom of this page.

What is Marketplace eBrokerage?

Marketplace eBrokerage is an online application. It allows us to:

  • Advertise securely the details of someone's specific support requirements to our providers
  • Match people looking for packages of care with the most suitable provider for their needs

How does it work?

Marketplace eBrokerage is a system of notifications and replies:

  1. We use the software to create a package of care. The package of care is be based on what the person's social worker or team requests
  2. The system identifies all suitable care providers
  3. These care providers receive the details of the package of care in eBrokerage and via email. This ensures that new offers will not be missed
  4. Providers can respond to the request in eBrokerage with their availability
  5. Once a decision is reached, all providers who made an offer are informed of the outcome

How does it help providers?

The Marketplace eBrokerage system replaces the previous manual process with a more efficient automated one. This means that:

  • All requests now have a completion deadline
  • The details of each request use a standard format. Providers can be sure of accurate information, first time
  • Providers now only receive requests that are relevant to their organisation
  • Providers receive clear instruction if their offer has not been accepted
  • Having a communication trail in one place and easily available to all parties, means we can work quickly, accurately, and more simply
