Apply to East Norfolk Sixth Form College if you live more than one mile from the college within the First Bus Great Yarmouth town zone or YarLow zone - see YarLow map here. The pass will cost £300 for term-time use only, but will include weekend use. The timetables for First buses can be found on their website.
For timetable information please use the following link: East Norfolk Sixth Form College Timetable.
Any student living within the First Bus Great Yarmouth town zone or YarLow zone can apply direct to First Bus for a bus pass giving unlimited yearly use.
Passes in the Great Yarmouth town zone cost £350, or for the YarLow zone they cost £490.
When applying direct to First Bus you can pay in full in advance or in 12 monthly instalments by direct debit. Go to the First Group website for further information or to buy. Weekly tickets covering the same zones are £10 and £14. You can buy these on the bus from the driver.
With this option there is no financial support from the College.
You need to be travelling on a core route to qualify for support.
On this map the blue lines show the corridors along which transport will operate but not necessarily the exact bus route, particularly near urban areas. You can find out the exact route by contacting Traveline (0871 200 22 33) or by visiting an operator’s website. The pink line shows the outer limit of the core route area. The black lines indicate extensions to the core routes funded by the College.
To apply for transport please go to apply online for post 16 transport.
For 2018/19, passes cost £357 per year and are for Monday to Friday use only during term time. Instalment options are available at £119 per term, or £59.50 per half-term. Please note that if the annual or termly options are selected it is not possible to change to half termly option for the summer term.
If you are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits then transport will be free but you must send valid proof the benefit to Travel & Transport Services with your application. You must also apply for East Norfolk Sixth Form College’s Discretionary Fund. Please go to www.eastnorfolk.ac.uk and fill in an application form which needs to be returned to the College along with the proof.
More information on payments is available here including the instalment dates, although the payment amounts will differ for other sixth forms and colleges.
Students living outside of the zone will have to choose the most appropriate boarding point and make their own arrangements prior to this point.
If you do not qualify for assistance under the post16 travel scheme or would like greater flexibility in travel to work, training or further education, Kickstart may be able to assist with a moped loan.
